Alfredo Barbini nasce nel 1912 ed è ad oggi considerato uno dei maestri più prestigiosi del Novecento.
Fin da piccolo intraprende la strada della lavorazione del vetro soffiato; prima alla vetreria Zecchin Martinuzzi (1932 – 1936) dove apprende la tecnica della lavorazione del vetro massiccio dallo scultore Napoleone Martinuzzi, poi alla vetreria V.A.M.S.A. (Vetreria Artistica Muranese Società Anonima) dove affina la sua tecnica.
Nel 1946 Il maestro diviene direttore della fornace Gino Cenedese, qui lavora per quattro anni.
Nel 1950 fonda la Vetreria Alfredo Barbini dove può dare libero sfogo alla sua maestria e creatività.

Murano Artistic Glassworks
Alfredo Barbini was born in 1912 and is to this day considered one of the most prestigious masters of the 20th century.
From an early age he embarked on the path of glassblowing; first at the Zecchin Martinuzzi glassworks (1932 - 1936) where he learned the technique of working solid glass from the sculptor Napoleone Martinuzzi, then at the V.A.M.S.A. (Vetreria Artistica Muranese Società Anonima) glassworks where he refined his technique.
In 1946 The master became director of the Gino Cenedese furnace, here he worked for four years.
In 1950 he founded the Vetreria Alfredo Barbini where he could give free rein to his mastery and creativity.
